Bow came to SNIPPP with scaly, itchy, bright red bald spots all over his little body. For months now, he has consistently been on a strict diet that eliminates certain common protein sources that he is likely allergic to, and his fur has grown back beautifully. He also gets regular baths with special shampoo, to ease his itchiness. He will need to continue with a special diet to prevent a relapse of his skin condition.
Bow gets along well with the other small dogs at his foster home, and he loves to cuddle and has plenty of dog kisses to share. We're told that he does well with children, too. He can be high energy at times, and if he is nervous about a situation, he tends to whine--but he is capable of settling down and just being a calm, contented little guy.
Baby carrots are his favorite 'approved' treat.
Bow loves to go for a ride in the car! He is mostly housetrained--but if there's another male dog in the family who 'marks' indoors, he may behave negatively in response to that.
Bow is ready to be a loving companion to an individual, couple or family who can commit to meeting his special dietary needs to keep him healthy.

Special Needs: Bow has food allergies which cause his hair to fall out and his skin to become red and itchy if he eats the wrong diet. With the proper food, he does great. But adopting him requires a life-long commitment to making sure that he eats the proper food for maintaining his health. Getting into another pet's food or eating the wrong type of treats will NOT be good for him.
