I'm a 15-month old Lab mix that someone mistreated and abandoned. I was on my own for a little while, and I got kind of scared without anyone to look after me. Some nice people rescued me, and I'm learning to trust humans again, but I do take a little while to warm up to new folks. I'd like to live with a gentle person who will allow me a little extra time to settle in, and I'd prefer to be the ONLY pet, so I can feel like I'm really the center of attention. I'm eager to please and I seek approval from my human companions. I'm sleek and shiny black with a little white on my chest. I weigh 52 pounds and have a slim build--I probably won't get much bigger than I am now.
I'm house trained, I sit when asked, and I know how to walk on a leash. When strangers show up, I'm a good watch dog, as I become VERY protective of my person. I'm heart worm negative and on preventative; I'm also micro chipped. My foster family says I'm very athletic and might enjoy training to do some special activity. I probably wouldn't do well around chickens, because I love to chase birds. Now I'm just waiting for that special someone who can appreciate my loyal nature and fulfill my wish for a forever home.
