BUTTE
Butte and Creek were recent victims of the Gold Fire in Modoc and Lassen Counties. Their savior Hugo, describes it as follows:
The Gold Fire had more than just people as victims. These two dogs were left behind at a pot grow to die in the fire each chained to a tree. Fortunately, the fire stopped about ten feet from the dogs. After a week and a half the owners had not returned. The fire fighters from Engine 44 were feeding and watering the dogs. When they had to move to the other side of the fire, the Sheriff asked if I would go get them and, of course, I said yes. They were very stand offish at first, but I was able to gain their trust and win them over. Both were intact males (they have been since neutered) and are both believed to be about 1 1/2 years old. Butte, the black one is I believe, a Pit/Lab mix and Creek, the tri-color is Pit/Rott mix. They are bonded and may be litter mates. Both are friendly, intelligent and wonderful watch dogs.
Please contact HUGO directly for more information for these great dogs - his number is 530-299-3512.
