Rudy, a lovely, friendly older soul, is a handsome Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix, who is available for adoption through Central Coast Border Collie Rescue. Rudy is living in foster care in the Santa Barbara area, ready for his forever home after his owner lost his home. (Pets are the unsung victims of this Great Recession!)

Blue-eyed Rudy is just an all around nice dog. He's quiet, tolerant of other dogs, totally indifferent to cats, good on leash, housebroken, great in the car, and a sweet fellow all in all. He's really friendly to kids and strangers -- he loves it when new people come over. And he'll happily meet and play with another dog, or a dog toy -- he has a lot of spunk in him despite being a "senior."

Rudy looks to be around 10 years old (the owner claimed he was six, but he looks older--he was probably just trying to save his dog from being put down). He's about 50 lbs. He's happy to go on a walk, but he'd be a perfect low-maintenance house dog for a busy but loving family, if you just don't have time for a dog that needs a lot of exercise.
